The details

Holiday giving season is coming. You probably have a long list of things you could try. A new message. A different audience. A partner campaign. An email experiment. And you want to push the envelope as the world is rapidly changing.

The harder question is: Which ideas are actually worth it?

Holiday Giving Test Kitchen is a small, two-hour virtual working session for social impact marketing and fundraising leaders who want dedicated time – and experienced outside perspective — to decide what they'll test this holiday season.

This isn't another holiday fundraising webinar. We'll spend time on what makes a great growth experiment and lessons I've learned from my years of experience leading marketplace giving at DonorsChoose. Then we'll get to work: you'll generate experiment ideas for your organization, pressure-test them with other social impact leaders, hear me workshop real ideas from the group, and then turn your strongest ideas into a draft you can share internally.

How we’ll spend our time together

Learn. Get a practical framework for designing experiments that teach you something, plus some of my favorite lessons about growing giving during the holiday season.

Generate. Step away from your day-to-day work and give yourself space to think expansively about what your organization could try.

Pressure-test. Talk your ideas through with other social impact leaders and get a fresh perspective on which ones have the most potential.

Workshop. We'll dig into real experiments from the group together: what's the hypothesis, who's it for, what are you trying to learn, and how could you make the idea stronger?

Choose. Use what you've learned to hone in on which experiments may be worth pursuing and write them up in a short format you can share with members of your team.

You'll leave with

A holiday giving learning plan built around 1–3 experiments you actually want to run. You'll also leave with new ideas from peers, feedback on your thinking, and a simple experiment-planning framework you can use long after the holidays are over.

Who it's for

This session is designed for social impact marketing and fundraising managers and directors who play a role in growing individual giving and are starting to plan for the holiday season.

Come if you have too many ideas, not enough ideas, or a half-formed idea you haven't quite figured out yet. Leave knowing what you're going to test.

‍ ‍- Di, Enterprise Account Executive, Novata

  • "Working with Abby completely transformed how I approach nonprofit marketing and strategy. She doesn’t just teach traditional tactics – she gives you the design thinking frameworks, strategic confidence, and tools needed to shift from simply executing tasks to proactively driving innovation."

    - Yukki, Former Nonprofit Marketer, DonorsChoose

  • When I’m working on a challenge that feels too big, too nebulous, or too delicate to tackle, Abby is one of the first people I consult. She has a way of making challenges feel like opportunities to experiment playfully and pose big questions in service of finding new paths forward. Abby’s approach is data driven and action-oriented in a way that invites the whole team in and creates the space to ask “What if?”
